BEEF STROGANOFF - THE EASY WAY
Can I help you with dinner tonight? It's simple and so are the ingredients. Mrs. Colonial's Kitchen Beef Stroganoff.
Hello Farmers,
Just a quick hello from me on this beautiful Sunday.
What an interesting time in the world. I'm not quite sure what to think these days. Crazy comes to mind though. If you're feeling it too and you want some comfort food, I've got you covered. This recipe today is a simple and quick recipe I created many years ago. It's been high on my family's favorites list for sure - at least until my daughter became a vegetarian, ha ha.
I loved putting this little vignette together for my website. I started with this Haddon Hall bone china and its old floral pattern (which happens to be my wedding China) and grounded it with this vintage handcloth embroidered by my grandmother, perfect for a "Sunday" post. I'm a simple person who is sentimental by nature and one who enjoys keeping one foot firmly rooted in the "old fashioned". Give me something handed down from my family, and I am a very happy lady.
Speaking of old fashioned, simple, and family, many years ago before Haddon Hall was a thing in our home, my husband and I would spend many simple Sundays on the sofa watching football together, our 49ers to be exact. In1982, the 49ers beat the Cowboys with "the catch" when Joe Montana sailed one to Dwight Clark.
Fast forward to several years ago. We had the pleasure of meeting Dwight at an event hosted by our friend Dana who is a winemaker and owner of Topping & Legnon. Dana produced a bottle of wine showcased at the event to benefit the 49ers Golden Heart Foundation. At the time, Dwight was battling Lou Gehrig's Disease and this wine was made in his honor and sold to benefit his cause.

As people who still enjoy the simple things and watching football on the sofa, last weekend we watched our 49ers play the Cowboys once again. My husband said, "If the niners win, I'm going to open a bottle and celebrate the victory in honor of Dwight". At the end of the game, I handed him the corkscrew.
Once we swirled, sniffed, sipped, and celebrated we were on to the entree.
It turns out, "The Catch" Cabernet Sauvignon is a perfect complement to Mrs. Colonial's Kitchen Beef Stroganoff - the easy way!
If you're in a hurry and need a quick and very satisfying meal, or just in the mood to make something new, try it and let me know what you think.
With love and passion always,
Sandy
