THE PROPERTY
The project consisted of fully renovating the home to create a beautiful and efficient dream home. Much of the original character and charm were retained while making it livable for today's lifestyle. Additional construction consisted of building a 1,363 sq. ft. ground floor master suite addition; and to construct a 2,624 sq. ft. rustic metal entertainment garage, the "Taj Ma Garage".
This estate rests on 37+ acres in the heart of Sonoma County, California’s beautiful Wine Country. Comprised of open meadows and tree-covered knolls, it is the quintessential Northern California dream property; only minutes from town, yet private and secluded. Many miles of walking, hiking, biking and horse riding trails are merely steps from the back door. Once part of the McDonald Ranch Subdivision, this parcel was originally much larger. In 1951, Grover and Mercy Stone sold off a number of acres to afford them the opportunity to build this, their 4,300 sq. ft. dream home.
The Stone family were the only ones to call this house and land their home, until the Sheldons, purchased it in 2016. The Stone fingerprints remained etched in the folds of the property, but the torch was passed, and in 2017 the renovation began to bring new life to this dilapidated old Colonial home.
