Love graced my heart the first time I drove up the drive and got my first peek at "Mrs. Colonial".  From her portico with stately columns, to her intricate roof top trim detail, I was captivated. Upon further inspection, however, to say this home was a diamond in the rough is an understatement. Once I opened the door, there was a whole lot of "rough" and very little "diamond". In fact, I quite possible may have been out of my mind the moment I decided to make her mine.

Before we go inside, let's first take a look at the EXTERIOR:

The porch was littered with old firewood, endless debris, and several inches of muck!

"They say the worse the before pictures the more dramatic the after pictures - well then, there is certainly going to be some drama around here eventually!"

This photo was taken after we had removed most of the debris.

Old and tired but she has some great bones. See those windows on the second floor in the middle? They bring a ton of light in to highlight the spiral staircase.

This huge interior design and home renovation adventure will certainly test me, but I'm throwing caution to the wind and plunging head first into design euphoria. I have  great things in store for Mrs. Colonial, and hope I can share every exciting and beautiful detail with you!
