RECIPE

Mrs. Colonial's Kitchen recipe: Traditional Chicken Noodle Soup elevated with an array of ingredients and a little heat. As my former neighbor said, "That was the best Chicken Noodle Soup I have ever had."

I LOVE this soup, and I hope you enjoy it too! The flavor is outstanding. The full body of ingredients will surely keep sickness at bay and bring an abundance of fulfilling nutrients your way. I remove the meat from a Whole Foods classic rotisserie chicken to help make this recipe quick and flavorful - don't forget to add the juices from the container as well. I also use our own Rock Haven Farm salsa. You can use any tomato-based medium salsa of your choice and get great results. If you like a soup with an abundance of broth, you can use 2 1/2T chicken base to 7 1/2 cups water to make your broth (we usually need to add additional broth the next day anyway to enjoy left-overs). You may feel inclined to just use an already prepared broth from a can or box, but making it this way brings so much more flavor. If you're a person who enjoys a little less heat, use 1/2 to 3/4 cup salsa instead.

There's no better way to show your family some love than to make them a home-made chicken soup, and this one will have them all feeling a great big sustaining hug. Enjoy!
